Angela Zhu

Dr. Angela Zhu is a board-certified ophthalmologist at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with a double fellowship specialization in both pediatric and adult cornea, cataract, and external diseases. She is focused on caring for patients of all ages with a variety of ocular surface and anterior segment disorders using cutting-edge medical and surgical techniques. After receiving her bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Zhu received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, followed by a general surgery internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. She subsequently completed a Cornea, Refractive, and External Diseases fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, as well as a second dedicated fellowship in Pediatric Cornea and External Disease at the University of Toronto Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Dr. Zhu has received multiple research accolades, including the ASCRS Foundation Resident Excellence Award and the Wilmer Research Association Mitchell Prize First Place Award. Her clinical practice focuses on improving outcomes for pediatric patients with corneal conditions as well as providing the optimal treatments for ocular surface, corneal, and cataract disorders in patients of all ages.
